Private Lessons

We offer half-hour and hour lessons weekly. Private lessons are geared towards each student's interests and to provide extra help outside of classes and ensembles. Sign up for a trial membership for as low as $75 for the month!

Junior Drummers

Junior Drummers is a class/performing ensemble for kids ages 6-10 meeting on Tuesdays from 3:30 - 4 pm. We learn about all kinds of percussion instruments and put together routines for public performances. Students are evaluated prior to class placement.

Keyboard Ensemble

Our Keyboard Ensemble meets Tuesdays from 5:30-6:30 pm. This group arranges popular music for percussion ensemble. We have performed tunes from the Beatles, to Michael Jackson, to Nirvana, to The Police. While it is geared for drums and percussion we do allow piano, guitar, bass, and singers in the group as applicable.

Drum Set Ensembles

We typically have 4-8 drum sets set up and learn more about technique, performing tips, equipment, tuning, and put together routines in a social setting. This is a rare opportunity to learn from other students and to perform with other drum set players. This class regularly performs publicly and requires evaluation before placement. They meet 6-7 pm on Mondays.

Stick Figures

Our Stick Figures meets Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 pm. We basically do whatever we want. Typically we'll pick a theme for the Fall or Spring and find and/or compose pieces to perform. In Fall/Spring 2006 we did world music having performed pieces inspired from all parts of the world on percussion instruments. Fall 2007 we rehearsed novelty video game and show the med music for performances such as Mario Bros, Tetris, Zelda, etc. Evaluation is required for placement.

Free Saturday Classes for Members

If you are a member, you may come in anytime on a Saturday to receive additional instruction with a private instructor. If you have a regular private lesson and want to come in for more help, you can schedule it the week of to take advantage of the opportunity. If you are in a group class and need further help, Saturday's the ticket. If you miss a lesson or a class and want to "make it up" you may do so on Saturdays.

DRUMLINE

We have two (2) drumlines. Our Wednesday drumline, which is a stationary (non-marching) group, is great for beginning and intermediate players. We play in front of Target Copy on University Avenue for about a hour or so before home Gator football games and other special events. They rehearse from 6:30-7:30 pm. Our Tuesday/Thursday drumline is a marching group and is geared towards intermediate/advanced players. We perform for the UF women's varsity soccer team at all home games, march in the homecoming parade, and are invited to player at other local events. These group also rehearses 6:30-7:30 pm. Evaluation is required for placement in both groups.

Studio Percussion Hats are in, $15. They are part of our drumline uniforms, as we play outside all the time. We don't make students buy elaborate several hundred dollar uniforms but these hats will help us look like we're a part of the same group and are now required for drumline members. Please get your hat as soon as you are able. They are not a part of indoor uniform but we will be using them for all outdoor events including Spring Arts Festival and those sort of things.

Hand Drumming

We offer a free drum circle Fridays from 6 - 8 pm led by Chad Voight.  Bring your own drum if you can.  This group does not meet the first Friday of each month when we have our Family Jam Nights however each FDN offers a drum circle as part of the event.

Family Jam Night!

Family Jam Night is designed to be a family-friendly opportunity for people of all ages to come and play our instruments with no strings attached. No child is too young. No adult is too old. We even provide sticks. It's only $10 per family or $5 per person. This opportunity meets on the first Friday of each month from 6-8 pm. There is plenty of unstructured free play time but we also coordinate a drumline clinic, drum circle, the Fastest Drummer Competition, and have a raffle for various give aways. Food is provided free of charge by Casino's Pizza. Drinks are provided free of charge by Publix.
